    Description

Antique~Victorian~Ladies Wedding Dress~2 Piece~Top~Skirt~Ensemble~1898's -1901~Overall in good condition, considering the age and how long it has been stored in a large suitcase for many years. Suitcase has been in a closet of a climate controlled and smoke free home for at least 50 years or more. There is a variety of material used in this antique wedding dress. Sheer lace, satin, crepe, cotton, and a sheer material over the underside material. It is adorned with embroidered lace appliques on top and skirt, tear-drop shaped lace appliques on front and back of top. High neckline with many, many, many hooks and eyes. On the interior of the waist of top there is a satin ribbon which measures 19.75" x 1.25" with hook and eye on the end to hold it in place. Shoulder pads. The underside material is cotton joins the at the front with many more hook and eyes. Then over this flaps the crepe like material and more hook and eyes. Sheer lace netting is fragile and there is some missing and some torn. The accent embroidered lace appliques are in fairly decent shape, still adhering on to the dress well. The back of skirt and back of top has a larger hook and eye which holds the two together. TOP~from the shoulder to bottom of top measures approx. 15.5", armpit to armpit 13.0", and sleeves including the sheer lace/ruffles measures approx. 18.0". SKIRT~from top of waistband to bottom of front of skirt measures approx. 42.0" and from waistband to back of skirt measures approx. 62.0". Waist is 21.0". The wedding dress/bridal ensemble is an
antique, yellowed, spotted, tattered, need of repair, and only worn once
. This gown is circa date 1898 to 1901, and is from the Victorian Era. It is a bridal ensemble.
    A beautiful display,
    for refurbishing, re-purposing, crafting, etc.
Due to the dress having such small measurements and the condition it is in, I do not think one could wear this, unless buyer is creative enough to refurbish it.
