It is very easy to know you’re your engine is in neutral with this lever as it snaps into neutral when the lever is in in the middle position
Neutral engine warm-up feature: This unit is capable of high idling
When the lever is in neutral position, grab it from the bottom where the logo is and pull out. This will disengage the gear. Now it can be idled at any speed without engaging the gear.
Move the lever back to neutral position and it will snap back to the body of the unit and now you can push/pull forward/reverse to engage the gear.
