    Description

    The images do not depict the launch of the S.S. NORMANDIE but rather that of a previous Compagnie Generale Transatlantique flagship, the SS PARIS of 1921 as she leaves her builders at St-Nazaire that year. This unusual postcard is a composite of five images of her exiting the harbor on the way to her port of call Le Havre and on to her maiden voyage.
    Where it ties in with the launch of the NORMANDIE is in the inscription on the back:
