If you are in the market to purchase a used car, you found the right listing. I have a lot of experience buying and selling cars and can guide you as to where to look for potential scams.
This report is only available to companies involved in auto sales like dealers, auto loan companies, etc. You can purchase it for 9.99. It will save you hours of work and save you from headaches.
This is what the report will tell you, starting with the most important item:
1. Title History Report: This part of the report will show you how many titles have been issued for this vehicle and issue dates. This is extremely important. This way when you go inspect the vehicle and ask to review a copy of the title, you need to VERIFY that the issue date on the title matches what's on the report. For example, say the seller purchased the vehicle 5 years ago and received the title. Now he wants to sale it and requests another title from motors vehicle department. The valid title is the most recent one, so you want to make sure you are signing the correct one.
2. Salvage History: This part of the report will tell you whether the vehicle has ever been branded as salvage, reconstructed, etc in any other state.
3. Rental, Taxi or Police vehicle: You will be notified if vehicle has that history.
4. Detailed Vehicle Information: This will include all the details of the vehicle according to the manufacturer.
From my experience 90% of the reports I have seen come out perfectly clear. It is that 10% of reports that show problems, like multiple titles from different states, or a salvage title that make it worth it to purchase the vehicle. Please don't be that buyer that purchases the report, gets it, and then complains that everything looks clean on the vehicle and wants a refund. It doesn't work that way.
