Victorian Antique Duchesse Bobbin Lace Butterfly Silk Embroidered Wedding Skirt
This Victorian era antique Duchesse bobbin lace butterfly silk embroidered wedding skirt dates from the late 19th century. It is made of an off white cream color silk fabric with raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work vine leaf flowers and a Belgian Duchesse bobbin lace filmy linen stitch, veined flower sprigs butterfly applique inserts, with 13 total butterflies. This beautiful bridal wedding skirt fabric is a long floor length with slight back train, a removed unfinished cut waistband with hook closures remaining on the back and is unlined. The skirt measures 44 inches long in the front, 48 inches long in the back, with a 28 inch waist and 52 inch hips. It is in good as-is condition needing some restoration repairs or upcycled made into something new. The waistband is missing with uneven fraying along the top, the lining is missing which has been mostly removed, a few tiny pin holes, snags, pulls along the top waist area, a small age spot stain on the side and some fraying along the bottom hem(see close-ups). This is truly a rare and wonderful wedding bridal antique Victoriana skirt fabric wearable art!
