This wedding gown was worn by a friend 55 years ago.  It has been preserved and unboxed today for the first time (see photo of sealed box).  The box is very heavy and oversized so I decided to ship it in a smaller box to cut down on shipping costs.  If the buyer wants the original box, I will be happy to accomodate that request.  The gown is in beautiful vintage condition.  Here are more details:
Measurements: (with gown laying flat)
Front neck to hem line - 59"
Back neck to bottom of train - 84"
Armpit to armpit - 19.5"
Waist - 14.5"
Shoulder to edge of sleeve - 24" on outside of sleeve
Shoulder to edge of sleeve - 17.5"  on inside of sleeve
This gown was probably about a size 12 or 14
3 Layers of fabric:  White lace with beading is over an ivory taffeta which is over an interfacing type fabric.  The inside interfacing fabric is a little soiled at the bottom of the train.  It probably would not come out in the cleaning but it cannot be seen when the gown is worn.
The back closure is hook and eyes, over small decorative buttons with a metal zipper.

* The veil is not included with the dress.  I will be listing the pillbox veil shortly.
