Vintage Ivory Lace & Satin Wedding Dress Long Sleeves High Collar Preserved.
Purchased at an estate sale. This beautiful wedding dress had been preserved and sealed in a box. I very carefully pulled up the tape to hang the dress and look for details. I then placed the dress back in the box the way I found it (see last photo.)
•The dress has a sheer lace overlay on the strapless bodice. This lace overlay gives the appearance of a jacket with four satin covered buttons from the neckline to where the skirt begins at the empire waist. (Empire is a style in clothing in which the dress has a fitted bodice ending just below the bust, giving a high-waisted appearance.) I tried to take a measurement at empire waist and it is approximately 29”. The tag inside dress says it is a Size 10.
•The long sleeves are lace and have a cuff which comes to a point over the wrist. (Approximately 20.5” long from shoulder to top of cuff; cuff is 4.5” to point.) The sleeves are slightly puffy; not tight to the arm.
•There is a metal zipper down the back with hook/eye and a snap at the collar.
• The A-line skirt is satin with a sheer overlay that has lace embellishments on the front. The skirt falls 46.5” from empire waist; sheer overlay goes down approximately 41.5”.
It looked really clean but I didn’t search it thoroughly. It was obviously dry-cleaned and preserved at some point. Sold AS IS!
I have always been a sucker for beautiful wedding gowns and just couldn’t pass up this one!
